Functional

FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT

A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is completed for all clients to determine why specific behaviors are occurring so we can find an appropriate and functional replacement behavior to create lasting behavioral change. Once we know why the behavior is occurring we can create an individualized behavior plan. The behavior plan will include strategies, procedures, and other elements of the treatment that takes into consideration the values, needs, skills, and resources of those who implement and experience the intervention.

Support

CAREGIVER EDUCATION AND SUPPORT

Caregiver education and support services are provided to each child’s caregiver, and is a critical component of any treatment plan. We offer in-home or community observations and consultations, as well as behavior skills training to provide everyone in the child’s environment with the skills necessary to implement the interventions successfully.

1:1 Therapy

Individualized goals

We provide 1:1 therapy services in the home, community, school, and clinic settings to work on decreasing interfering or harmful behavior, teach functionally equivalent replacement behavior, and/or the acquisition of various skills. Some of the skills we can work on, but are not limited to:

• communication

• toilet training

• school readiness

• social skills

• play skills

• coping skills

• motor skills (gross and fine motor)

• daily living skills (dressing, eating, grooming, etc.)

• vocational skills

Education

sCHOOL CONSULTATIONS AND SUPPORTS

In an effort to advocate for student independence and greater opportunities for inclusion, school support services may be provided in public, private, and home education settings depending on the school's approval. We are also available for Independent Education Evaluations (IEE), school staff training, and community education events.
